It is a registered non-governmental society. SWCS is responsible in overseeing the management and the operation of the Kota Kinabalu Wetland Ramsar Site (KKWRS).<\/p>\n<p>SWCS\u2019s vision is to contribute towards the \u2018conservation and sustainable management of Sabah\u2019s wetlands\u2019, and its mission is \u2018to ensure protection and wise use of all wetlands in Sabah, through education, research and advocacy\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This vision and mission is embodied in SWCS\u2019s three guiding objectives which are as follows:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>To promote the conservation of wetlands in Sabah and the variety of plants, birds and other kinds of living organisms found in them;<\/li>\n<li>To raise public awareness and appreciation of the wetlands and public involvement in protecting wetlands;<\/li>\n<li>To manage Kota Kinabalu Wetlands as a model wetland centre for the purpose of conservation, education, recreation, tourism and research.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sabah Wetlands Conservation Society (SWCS) was established after the dissolution of the Likas Wetlands Sanctuary Management Committee (LWSMC).
