The Sponsor-A-Tree-for-Life project allows individuals or corporations to contribute towards mangrove restoration by sponsoring trees at a rate of One Hundred Ringgit Malaysia Only (RM100) per tree. It is a joint project between SWCS and Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Objectives and Aims<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>The objectives of this project is to contribute towards the survival of biodiversity content through mangrove area enhancement (natural habitat conservation), reducing the impact of Climate Change through carbon-offsetting, and contribute towards ensuring the continuity of the Environmental Education Programmes at Kota Kinabalu Wetland Centre (KKWC) through the provision of financial support.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Outline of Activities<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Through this project, we aim to obtain sponsorship for 1,000 trees:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To plant 1,000 Rhizophora apiculata trees in selected sites around Sabah<\/li>\n<li>To leverage off replanting efforts to create public awareness on the importance of wetlands conservation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This project is part of the National Tree-Planting Campaign launched in 1997 that has an overall target of planting 20 million trees by the year 2020.
